A new miniPC called GMKtec KB5 that we find based on the Celeron N5105 processor, a chip that we are seeing a lot in these small low-power computers.
The GMKtec KB5 has the typical format that we find in many of these miniPCs, with a box that despite its size has a wide variety of ports. As we mentioned, its most relevant point is its Intel Celeron N5105 processor, which is manufactured in 10 nm, something that provides us with good general performance and very low consumption. The rest of the specifications are very correct, with good expansion options for RAM and storage.
GMKtec KB5 Specs
On the motherboard of this GMKtec KB5 mini PC we have an Intel Celeron N5105 processor welded, a Quad Core manufactured in 10 nm capable of reaching 2.9 GHz in burst mode and in which we find an Intel UHD Graphics GPU with support for video playback. h.265 and VP9 video up to 4K60fps resolutions. Attached to the processor we have a fan that extracts air from the side of the box to keep temperatures at bay, this processor does not have to generate a lot of heat as it is manufactured in 10nm.
The installed RAM is 8 GB DDR4 in two SODIMM modules, while for storage we have a 256 GB M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD. In addition, inside the box, we are allowed to mount a second SATA 3.0 storage unit of a size of 2.5″.
This mini PC includes Wifi 6 aX wireless connectivity with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.2. As for ports, we find two USB 3.0 connectors, two USB 2.0, three video outputs with two HDMI 2.0 and one USB-C that allow resolutions up to 4K @ 60fps, 3.5 mm audio jack on the perimeter of the box and finally a Gigabit network connector.
The included operating system is Windows 11, although any Linux distribution can be used. A computer that, in addition to the classic office automation tasks, can also be used to play IPTV, KODI addons, a SAMBA server or run arcade emulators.
