The Koreans GPD are on a roll and today we present another new product, the UMPC GPD Pocket 2 Amber black which is nothing more than an economical version of the GPD Pocket 2. The price cut comes with a cut in hardware but is still ok unless we need to squeeze the machine at maximum. The main cuts come in memory, now with 4GB of RAM and the processor that in this version becomes a modest Intel Celeron 3965Y. It also shows its most striking change since now the chassis is black.
Processor, RAM and storage
The UMPC GPD Pocket 2 Amber Black integrates a powerful Intel Celeron 3965Y that has two cores and two threads with a speed of 1.5 GHz and with integrated GPU lntel HD Graphics 615 with 24 EU and a speed of up to 850 MHz. Consumption is only 4.5W TPD, to have the temperatures controlled we have an active fan inside that we can deactivate by means of a key. In terms of memory we have 4 GB of non-expandable LPDDR3 RAM and 128 GB internal storage in eMMc 5.0 format that we can expand thanks to the included SDXC card reader.
Screen and other features
The screen is a 7-inch H-IPS touch with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels in 16:10 format. At the level of wireless connectivity includes an internal adapter with WiFi aC and Bluetooth 4.1. In terms of connectivity we have a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port that is used to charge it and two USB 3.0. The battery is 6800 mAh, capable of lasting up to 8 h.
This small laptop has a QWERTY keyboard and on its upper right side it has an optical touch control system.
