Today we have in stores the new UMPC with renewed design GPD Pocket 3, a new version of this saga of supercompact computers that this time comes with a processor to the last.
In this small laptop we now have the new Intel Jasper Lake N6000 or Intel Core i7-1195G7 processors, the RAM memory installed is a fast 8/16 GB LPDDR4X and the design is in convertible format for use as a tablet. A device oriented to professions that require a laptop with the lowest weight and maximum portability. This is undoubtedly a good option to have a network access point and applications anywhere without having to drag a heavy laptop.
Processor, RAM and storage
The GPD Pocket 3 has two versions, one with the low power Intel Pentium Silver N6000 Quad Core processor with 4 threads with a TPD of 6 W up to 3.3 Ghz and an integrated Intel UHD Graphics GPU and a more powerful Intel Core i7-1195G7 Quad Core with 8 threads with a TPD of 28 W up to 1.3 Ghz and a powerful integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU.
In terms of RAM we have 8/16 GB of non-expandable high-speed LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB M.2 NVMe internal storage that we can expand by removing the back.
Display and other features
The display is an 8-inch H-IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels in 16:10 format, has a power of 500 nits and up to 4096 pressure levels. In terms of wireless connectivity includes an internal adapter with Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. In terms of connectivity we have a 3.5 mm audio jack, 2.5G Ethernet port, USB Type-C connector (Thunderbolt 4 on Core i7) and three USB 3.0. It also has a modular connector system that allows us to take out HDMI IN or RS232 ports.
This small notebook has a QWERTY keyboard and on its upper right side it has a touch control system with dedicated buttons. The weight is only 725 g and the dimensions are 198 x 137 x 20 mm. The installed operating system is Windows 10 upgradeable to Windows 11 and has a 2MP webcam installed. The battery is 5000 mAh x 2, capable of lasting up to 9/15h that we can also use as a powerbank.
