GPD WIN Max 2, new micro notebook with AMD Ryzen 6800U APU

Today we have a new Gaming UMPC called GPD WIN Max 2 that offers the latest in processors, as it has a version with an interesting AMD Ryzen Gen6 with RDNA2 GPU.

More devices with AMD Ryzen Gen6 mobile APU processors are starting to be released, new APUs with Zen3+ cores and RDNA2 GPU. This time we find the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U, manufactured in 6 nm with a configurable TDP between 15/28 W. This micro notebook PC offers a very compact design with Gaming options and an aluminum casing with great finishes. Undoubtedly a very interesting alternative for those looking for something extremely portable and powerful.

GPD WIN Max 2 Specifications

This new GPD WIN Max 2 UMPC has two versions, one with Intel Core i7-1260P and another much more interesting one with the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, a new AMD Gen6 APU with Zen3+ Octa Core cores with sixteen threads that moves between 2.7GHz and 4.7Ghz in Turbo mode. This processor includes an AMD Radeon 680M GPU that, thanks to the RDNA2 architecture, offers a performance that is public to the previous Vega GPUs with RDNA1.

We will also have 16/32 GB of LPDDR5 5200 MT/s RAM, two 1/2TB M.2 NVMe 1.4 SSDs and a microSDXC card reader. Inside this mini PC we have a fan to keep temperatures under control.

Display and other features

This small UMPC finally mounts a 10.1-inch IPS touch screen with 4096 pressure levels, with a maximum resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. In terms of ports we have a Gigabit Network connector, a USB 4 (with eGPU support), 3x USB 3.2 Gen1, 1x USB 3.2 Gen2, microSD UHS-II slot and a HDMI 2.1 video output.

This GPD WIN Max 2 has a 67Wh battery with autonomy between 8 and 3 hours depending on usage, as a charging system we have a 100W fast charging adapter. To connect we have a Wifi 6 adapter up to 2402 Mbps that integrates Bluetooth 5.2. In the sound section we have four speakers located on the perimeter.

As physical controls we have two analog knobs on each end, two crosshairs, four front action buttons, two rear push buttons, two progressive triggers and two push buttons on the back on each side. In addition, we have two magnetic touchpads that can cover the console controls and we have dual vibration. The case is made of magnesium and weighs 1005 grams with measurements of 227×160×23 mm, the installed system is Windows 11 Pro.
