The updated version of the GPD WIN MAX 3 mini laptop has just been unveiled, this time with upgraded specs that deliver high performance.
This mini laptop now features the powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max 395 with 16 cores and 32 threads, which also integrates a 50 TOPS NPU. It’s undoubtedly a machine that stands out for its hybrid design, combining a laptop and a console. On the top, there are physical controls for playing any game with all the functions of a gamepad it even has triggers on the back.
This is a great machine for anyone looking for something extremely portable and powerful, with the ability to run games at a very high level.
GPD WIN MAX 3 Specifications
Powering the highest-end version is the AMD Ryzen AI Max 395 APU, manufactured using efficient 4-nm technology, which drives this computer. This is a Zen 5-based chip with 16 cores and 32 threads that reaches speeds of up to 5.1 GHz and features a 50 TOPS AI core for artificial intelligence tasks, reaching 126 TOPS when combined with the CPU. For graphics, it features the powerful 40-core Radeon 8060S iGPU, which runs at 2.9 GHz. There’s also a more affordable version with the AMD Ryzen AI Max 388; if you don’t need as much computing power, the GPU is the same.
Several versions are available with 32/64/128 GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 8000 MT/s. For storage, it features a generous M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0×4 SSD slot, which can be expanded with another M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0×2 slot and a compact Mini SSD 1517.
Display and Other Features
This UMPC mini-laptop features a 9.06-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 4,096 pressure levels, offering a maximum resolution of 2,400×1,504 pixels at up to 165 Hz. In terms of ports, it includes a USB4 port with DisplayPort 2.1 and 40 Gbps, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DP 2.1 and 10 Gbps, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1 FRL, a DC port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a Mini SSD slot.
The GPD WIN MAX 3 features a 97Wh battery with a runtime of between 8 and 3 hours depending on usage, and a 100 W adapter for fast charging. The dimensions are 207 × 147 × 34 mm without modules and 207 × 180 × 34 mm with the modules attached. The official weight is 815 g for the base unit, 1,220 g with the external battery module, and 985 g with the external fan module.
