We already have in stores the new Android GPD XD PLUS portable console, the heiress of the old well-known GPD XD. A laptop with Android 7.0 that maintains the external design of the previous model but inside it hides significant improvements since it includes a much more powerful Mediatek MT8176 SoC, the same as found in the tablet Xiaomi Mi Pad 3, compatible with Vulkan and is accompanied by 4GB of RAM, twice the memory of the previous console.
The new GPD XD+ includes a Mediatek MT8176 SoC , a Hexa core with a cluster of two CPUs ARM Cortex-A72 able to reach up to 2.1GHz and another cluster with four CPUs ARM Cortex-A53 that reach up to 1.7 GHz while in the graphical section we have a PowerVR GX625 GPU. It also includes 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage memory, 6000 mAh battery, Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. The screen is a 5-inch IPS touch with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. In terms of connectivity we found a audio jack, microSD card reader and microHDMI port.
As always we found the console loaded with emulators: NES / FC, GB, GBC, SMC, SMD, SFC / SNES, GBA, MAME, N64 and SONY PS, although we can install whatever we want. At the controls level, it has analog joysticks, a crosshead, a D-PAD, double triggers and various function keys for Android, the same configuration as in the previous console.
- The GPD XD PLUS console can be booked on Gearbest.com and Geekbuying.com only for $209.99 including shipping costs, shipments are expected to start at the beginning of February.
