GTMEDIA G2 a new Freesat Box with S905W SoC that reaches stores

We found a new box of the China brand Freesat that is gradually expanding its catalog to more basic Android TV-Boxes without tuners, although they surely have good support for IPTV. The GTMEDIA G2 is a box just taken out of the oven that is committed using the Amlogic S905W SoC, at this moment we do not know all its specifications, although it will not differ much from the Chinese market average.

SoC, RAM and storage

The Box GTMEDIA G2 has as its central engine the most economical SoC of Amlogic, the S905W that integrates in its core four CPU cores ARM Cortex-A53 capable of reaching up to 1.5GHz and a Mali-450mp5 GPU that decodes video up to 4K@30fps resolutions. It also includes 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB of eMMc storage memory that can be expanded thanks to the included microSD card reader. A suitable configuration to use this Box with several apps but always at FHD resolution.

Other specifications

At the level of wireless connectivity this box seems to only have Wi-Fi b/g/n, bluetooth and as connectors we can only verify for now an HDMI 2.0a interface and 10/100 network connector.

The operating system is Android 7.1, an IR remote control is also delivered.
