Today we found a small miniPC, only 106 x 106 x 25 mm, called GXMO N42 and which surprises us for having an Intel Celeron N4020C processor.
The Intel Celeron N4020C is a processor with a TDP of only 6W that only differs from the Celeron N4020 in having a wireless module integrated into its package. A chip that right now is far surpassed in every way by other cheap products from Intel itself, but at least due to its low consumption allows cooling without fans to be included in this PC.
For the rest, the GXMO N42 is not a NASA computer, since it has 6 GB of non-expandable RAM and a fairly standard configuration. It must be taken into account that there are some versions with eMMC storage memory, something that is not recommended due to its performance and reliability.
GXMO N42 Specifications
The GXMO N42 miniPC is powered by an Intel Celeron N4020C processor manufactured in 14nm. This chip is a Dual Core with 2 Threads capable of reaching 2.80 GHz of maximum speed. The integrated GPU is an Intel UHD with 12 EU compatible with h.265 and VP9 codecs that is capable of playing video up to 4K@60fps resolution in h.265 or VP9 format.
The RAM memory is 6 GB LPDDR4 that is soldered on the board, while for storage we have an M.2 2280 port to install an SSD and a micro SD card reader.
The connectors we have are quite a few considering its size, as we find 3 USB 3.0 ports, two HDMI 2.0a, 3.5 mm combo audio jack, Gigabit Ethernet connector and a USB 2.0. We also have Dual Band Wi-Fi aC, Bluetooth 4.2 and a Kensington security slot.
