During the celebration of the MWC 2018 we have seen interesting developments of the Mediatek brand that after the poor results obtained with its SoC’s of the X series has launched to enhance its P range, aimed at mid-range Smartphones.
The surprise of this MWC has been to see integrated in a Smartphone the Helio P70 SoC an Octa Core manufactured in 12nm with 4 ARM Cortex-A73 processors capable of reaching a maximum speed of 2.5GHz and 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors able to reach 2.0GHz and which integrates as a graphic core an ARM Mali-G72 MP4 GPU with maximum speeds reaching 800MHz. This new Mediatek SoC we have seen wearing a Ulefone T2 pro a flagship of this Chinese brand for 2018 and in this designs use the same screen with Notch of the iPhone X. The screen is precisely the main attraction of this smartphone , that we will see this Summer in store since it mounts a 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and a form factor of 19:9.
We also had the launch during this MWC of the new Helio P60 SoC another Octa Core for the mid range manufactured in 12nm that includes 4 ARM Cortex-A73 processors that reach the 2GHz and 4 processors ARM Cortex-A53 also with a maximum speed of 2.0 GHz. At the graphic level we have an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU with maximum speeds reaching 800MHz and highlight the integration of a coprocessor for artificial intelligence with a processing capacity of 280 GMAC / s and that is responsible for work related to augmented reality or recognition facial among others. This SoC also includes support for up to 8GB of LPDDR4x 1800 MHz dual channel RAM, eMMC 5.1 / UFS 2.1 storage memory and displays with up to 2400 × 1080 pixel resolution. It also includes WiFi aC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, FM Radio and a 4G LTE dual SIM modem with worldwide bands and that reaches download speeds Cat.7 and Cat.13.
