HONGTOP P30 Plus, a compact HD projector with automatic correction at a very affordable price

A new compact projector called the HONGTOP P30 Plus, a device just 165 mm long that can be used anywhere and in any position.

This projector features a rotating stand that allows it to be angled in any direction. It’s a product that will compete with similar projectors, such as the popular Magcubic HY300 PRO, which runs on Android. In this case, it runs on Coolita OS, which appears to be a limited version of Linux; so if you want to install apps, you’re better off going with the Magcubic, although you can use your own Android TV Stick or Box. This projector’s native resolution is HD at 1280 x 720 pixels, and it has a brightness of 150 ANSI lumens, so it should only be used in dark environments.

On the front, below the lens, there’s a small camera that enables automatic keystone correction. This is a very convenient feature that saves you from having to adjust the focus every time you move the projector.

HONGTOP P30 Plus Projector Specifications

This HONGTOP P30 Plus features LCD projection technology, a native HD 720p resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a contrast ratio of 2000:1, and a brightness of 150 ANSI lumens. Focusing is manual, but keystone correction is automatic. You can achieve a screen size ranging from 30″ to 150″, placing the projector at a distance of between 1 and 3.5 meters.

Due to its small size, this projector does not have direct control buttons; it only has a power button. It can only be controlled using the remote control included with the projector.

Connections, multimedia, and other notable features

Integrated into the projector’s circuit board is an unlabeled SoC, which is quite common in projectors that run their own Linux-based OS—in this case, Coolita OS. It also features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity; it’s supposed to support projection from your smartphone, but you may encounter compatibility issues.

On the back of the HONGTOP P30 Plus, there is a USB 2.0 port, an analog audio and video input port, and an HDMI 2.0 video input connector. For audio, it features a single 5W speaker built into the body. If you have any technical questions about this device, you can consult our Technical Guide to Projectors.
