The new high-end HONOR Magic8 Pro Air smartphone has just been unveiled in China, following the trend of some smartphones we have seen lately that are small in size but have high specifications.
This Honor model falls into the compact range, with a 6.31-inch AMOLED screen, a thickness of 6.1 mm, and a weight of only 155 grams, all in a beautiful IP69-certified body. In terms of photography, it is well-equipped, with a 64 MP optical x3.2 telephoto lens and a 50 MP wide-angle lens, among other features. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, which outperforms the Apple A19 Pro and will run this device with complete fluidity.
The operating system is Android 16 with the MagicOS 10.0 layer, which is naturally loaded with iA-powered utilities.
HONOR Magic8 Pro Air specifications
Inside this high-end device, we find the new 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500. A chip with a C1-Ultra core that reaches 4.21 GHz, two C1-Premium cores that reach 3.5 GHz, and four C1-Pro cores that stay at 2.7 GHz. The GPU is also a new Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 capable of encoding and decoding video at resolutions up to 8K and supports Ray Tracing and Unreal Engine 5.6.
The RAM soldered onto the board comes in 12/16 GB LPDDR5X versions. For storage, there are versions with 256 / 512 GB / 1 TB high-speed UFS 4.0.
Display and other features
This HONOR has a 6.31″AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels, maximum brightness of 6000 nits, a configurable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and Dolby Vision compatibility. In terms of photography, the rear features a 50 MP OIS camera supported by a 50 MP wide-angle lens and a 64 MP x3.2 OIS telephoto lens. On the front, there is a50 MP camera.
For audio, there are two speakers, and the battery, is5500 mAh with 80 W fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. There is also NFC, GPS, eSIM-compatible 4G/5G modem, on-screen fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB-C 2.0 port.
Price and where to buy
