It has just been presented in China the new smartphone Honor Power2 where we have a high capacity battery with no less than 10,080 mAh that guarantees a great autonomy.
Its body arrives with IP69K certified protection and a weight of 216 grams, quite contained for its large battery. As a good mid-range we have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen and a powerful Mediatek Dimensity 8500 processor, a recently launched SoC that improves significantly over the Dimensity 8450, which for your reference yields a result of approximately 2,400,000 points in the Antutu v11 app.
As operating system we have Android 16 with the MagicOS 10.0 brand layer that comes loaded with iA tools. By the way, its back is very reminiscent of the iPhone 17 Pro.
Honor Power2 Specifications
The SoC of this new HONOR smartphone is the new Mediatek Dimensity 8500, an Octa Core manufactured in 4 nm. Within this integrated we have three clusters, the most powerful with 1 ARM Cortex-A725 processor that reaches 3.4, Ghz, a second with 3 ARM Cortex-A725 processors that reach 3.2 Ghz and the most efficient with 4 ARM Cortex-A725 processors that reach 2.2 Ghz. The GPU is a Mali-G720 MP8 that reaches 1.5 Mhz and includes support for HDR10 technology. We also have an NPU 880 for artificial intelligence work.
The RAM memory has versions with 12 GB LPDDR5X although as always we can expand it virtually with the storage memory. For storage we find 256/512 GB UFS 4.1 that we can also expand via micro SD slot up to, we assume, with 2 TB capacity cards.
Display, cameras, and autonomy
The display panel used by the Honor Power2 is a 6.79-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2640 x 1200 pixels, maximum brightness of 8000 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz
For selfies, we have on the front a 16 MP camera that complements the rear sensors integrated in a circular module, with a 50 MP OIS main sensor and an 8 MP wide angle. We also have fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, 5G connectivity with Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, infrared sensor and GPS.
As for connection interfaces, in this new terminal we find a USB Type-C 2.0 OTG port for data and recharging and the battery is 10,080 mAh with fast charging up to 80 W and reverse of 27 W. In the audio section we have two speakers and two microphones.
Price and where to buy
- The new Honor Power2 can currently only be purchased in China for about 330 € at the exchange rate, although it will surely be available soon in stores like AliExpress.
