HP EliteBoard G1a, new full-featured PC in a keyboard with AMD Ryzen AI 300

Unveiled at CES the original HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC, a fully functional computer embedded in a keyboard.

This mini PC is presented in a waterproof keyboard, a return to the origins of microcomputers such as the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, MSX or the Amstrad CPC among others. Inside this PC keyboard we will find several powerful processors of the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series, computing solutions that will allow us to run any demanding desktop task. Thanks to the modern USB-C ports with power we can start this computer with a single cable if we have a monitor with this power port.

By removing the bottom cover we can easily expand both storage and RAM. To keep temperatures at bay we have an active fan.

HP EliteBoard G1a Mini-PC Specifications

As processors we will have several options of the AMD Ryzen AI 300 family, manufactured by TSMC in an efficient 4 nm. Depending on the version we will have a Radeon 800M GPU with more or less power. For AI we have options with up to 50 TOPS with its dedicated NPU.

As for RAM we can mount up to two DDR5 modules in Dual Channel. In the storage section we find a connector for SSD 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0×4 high speed.

Other notable features

This new HP EliteBoard G1a PC has a thickness of only 12 mm, ideal for carrying it anywhere comfortably in its custom case thanks to its 726 g weight. To work we only need to connect it to any USB-CTM monitor with power or a HUB that outputs HDMI signal.

The keyboard also has an internal battery of 35 Wh, this allows us to have an autonomy of about 3.5 hours that can get us out of trouble with a portable screen. The operating system is Windows 11 Pro for Business, but if we are handy enough we can perhaps install Linux.

Price and availability

  • The new HP EliteBoard G1a is scheduled for release in March, but we’ll see if it will be available and what price it has, it sure won’t be cheap.
