HP t430 Thin client a mini PC with Intel Gemini Lake that needs a single cable

HP t430 Thin client is a new passive computer that only requires one connection cable with our monitor to be used, this is something that we had already seen in other models like the Minix Neo N42C-4. As we see they share many characteristics besides a similar design, in this case we have Intel Gemini Lake latest generation processor that provides interesting features.

HP t430 Thin client includes an Intel Celeron N4000 processor with two cores capable of reaching 2.60Ghz in turbo mode and including an Intel UHD Graphics 600 with 12EU GPU and a maximum speed of 650 Mhz that is capable of play 4K@60fps videos, consumption is only 6W TPD. Integrated on the board we have 2 or 4 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2400 MHz, while in the internal storage section we have 32 or 64 GB of eMMc 5.0 storage memory without expansion capacity. This mini PC is totally passive and uses its upper face as a thermal exchange system.

At the level of connectivity this miniPC is very well endowed since it has 3 USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C port of DP output and electric charge at the same time, outputs DP 1.2 and HDMI that allow to connect two screen, microSD card reader, Gigabit network interface, audio jack and Kingston lock. At the operating system level, it can be purchased by default with Linux or Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, two systems designed to use this computer as an assisted terminal rather than as an independent mini PC.

Price and availability

  • The HP t430 Thin client for now has no date of departure but its approximate price will be about $280 depending on the configuration, a product that unfortunately seems totally oriented to the professional field and will not have a domestic version.
