HS89 T15: The first Android TV stick featuring the new RK3539 processor

Today on AliExpress, we found the first Android media player in a TV stick format that features the new RK3539 quad-core SoC: the compact HS89 T15.

HS89 T15 RK3539 AndroidRockchip’s latest chip is the RK3539, a quad-core processor with ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. The GPU is an ARM Mali-G310, likely running at 1 GHz, the same one used in the Amlogic S905X5M SoC. This chip comes with support for AV1 and HDR10, and it appears to offer a significant boost in graphics performance compared to other solutions from this brand, such as the RK3528, which uses a much older GPU like the ARM Mali-450.

This SoC comes paired with 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16/32 GB of eMMC storage. The HS89 T15 also features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The available ports are practically nonexistent: one USB 2.0, one USB-C for power, a 3.5 mm jack to connect the IR extender, and an HDMI 2.0 port for video output.

Finally, the operating system is Android 14, and it includes a remote control with a microphone for use with any voice assistant or voice commands. This stick does not include a power adapter; a 5V/2A adapter must be used for it to work, because if you power it from a TV’s USB port, you will likely encounter issues. As always, remember that these types of Chinese products are not certified to stream major paid streaming platforms in high-quality video.
