Huawei Honor MagicBook, a laptop following the Xiaomi’s path

It seems that the good results of Xiaomi with their laptops are not going unnoticed for the competition since Huawei has just released the first laptop under the name of Honor MagicBook. A team with two variants that comes, of course, with an attractive aluminum chassis, a 14-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels with reduced frames for the two models and fingerprint reader.

Processor, RAM and storage

The two variants of the Huawei Honor MagicBook are differentiated by their processor and RAM. The most powerful version mounts an Intel Core i7-8550U processor with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM while the more modest one includes an Intel Core i5-8250U with 4 GB of RAM. Both computers share the inclusion of a 256 GB SSD and a dedicated Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM. A configuration more than enough for office work and thanks to the Nvidia GPU will allow us to move simple games without problems.

Other features

In terms of connectivity we find a USB Type-C port for power, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0, HDMI output and a audio jack. We also found a 10 MP webcam with 2 microphones and 4 speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos. The 57 Wh battery promises a duration of up to 12-13h, has a weight of 3.24 lb, a thickness of about 0,62 inches and its keyboard is backlit.

  • The new Huawei Honor MagicBook are already on sale in China for about $793 at change in its cheaper version.
