The new HUAWEI MatePad Air Z tablet has been launched in China; this mid-to-high-end device will be available in international stores soon.
This new Huawei model, updated for this year, retains its metal unibody design and comes with a stylus for precise note-taking or drawing. Inside, it features the HUAWEI Kirin T93SD and T93S processors, proprietary solutions from the manufacturer whose details are not yet known. The display offers 2800 × 1840 resolution and a generous 12-inch size with fairly high brightness, up to 900 nits.
The operating system is Huawei’s HarmonyOS 7, which is worth noting. As we know, Google services are not pre-installed. However, they can be installed manually with a little know-how.
HUAWEI MatePad Air Z Specifications
The HUAWEI MatePad Air Z (2026) tablet is powered by the high-end HUAWEI Kirin T93SD SoC and the Kirin T93SSoC in its more basic version. These are the manufacturer’s own 12-core chips. The processor has enough power to run apps smoothly and handle low- to mid-range games.
The version of this tablet on sale comes with 8/12 GB of RAM soldered onto the motherboard. For storage, there are 128/256 GB options available.
Display and Other Features
The tablet has a 12-inch IPS display with a high resolution of 2800 × 1840, a 144 Hz refresh rate, 900 nits of brightness, and a light sensor. This display is compatible with the high-definition HUAWEI M-Pencil. The front camera is 8 MP, and the rear camera is also 50 MP.
On the sides, there is a single USB-C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. It also features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity, and the battery has a capacity of 10,100 mAh with 40 W fast charging. Its metal body houses six high-quality speakers. The dimensions are 270.5 x 183.55 x 5.9 mm, and it weighs 555 g.
