The flood of cheap Android TV-Stiks in stores continues, and today we find the M96 RK3528 based as its name suggests on the RK3528 SoC.
A small device that comes with Android TV 13 as OS and an entry-level processor such as the Rockchip RK3528. By including the SoC RK3528 this small mediaplayer can serve us without problems as a multimedia player, even in 4K resolution, to run apps, basic games and something else. As always, its discreet format reduces the number of connectors available, something to take into account depending on the use we intend to give it.
Remember that this type of TV-Sticks like the M96 RK3528 are not certified to watch video on paid streaming platforms in high resolution (although the logos appear), there are other better options for this.
Specifications of the M96 RK3528
The small TV-Stick M96 RK3528 includes as engine, a Rockchip RK3528 processor. This chip is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A53 processors reaching up to 2.0 Ghz and a modest ARM MALI-450 MP2 GPU of which we do not know its clock speed.
For RAM, we have a single version with 2 GB DDR3 and for storage we find 16 GB. This time we have a micro SD card reader to expand the storage memory.
Other features
In the field of wireless connectivity, we have this time a good endowment, with Wi-Fi aC with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.0. As connectors, we find in its small plastic body a single USB 2.0 interface and an HDMI 2.0 video output port that allows us to output video up to 4K@60fps resolutions. There is another micro USB port, but it is for the power supply.
Included with the Box M96 RK3528 is an infrared remote control with microphone for voice assistant commands and several shortcut keys. We also find in the box a power supply and an HDMI extender cable to start using this Box just by taking it out of the box and connecting it to our TV.
