The lack of ideas is a constant in the Chinese TV-boxes market and as usual we find a new model called M96X – II MINI with minimal hardware differences compared to other models. This is a new TV-Box based on the well-known S905X SoC from Amlogic and only differs from other mediaplayers by the design of its plastic box and at least by including a fairly modern version of Android such as 7.1.
The M96X – II MINI has a standard hardware, we found the Amlogic S905X SoC that has four ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching the real 1.5GHz and a Mali-450mp5 GPU capable of decoding video up to 4K resolutions UHD without problems. This model mounts 2GB of RAM, 16GB of eMMc storage memory, Wi-Fi b/g/n with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.0. At the connector level we found a fairly typical configuration, a microSD card reader, 2 USB 2.0 ports, digital optical audio output, HDMI 2.0a connector up to 4K @ 60fps and a 10/100 Ethernet port.
The operating system is Android 7.1 and among the included accessories we have an IR remote control in addition to HDMI 2.0 cable.
