M96X II Plus another Chinese mediaplayer with Amlogic S912 SoC and Android 7.1

After the long hiatus of the Chinese New Year, the factories start to run and begin to launch new TV-boxes at full speed. Today we have the new M96X II Plus, a team based on the SoC Octa Core Amlogic S912, a device with a fairly standard configuration that basically stands out for including an LED screen on the front of its plastic box.

SoC, RAM and storage

The M96X II Plus TV-Box includes as main engine the Octa Core Amlogic S912 SoC a chip with surplus power that has 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a Mali-T820MP3 GPU that incorporates support for 4K@60fps UHD video decoding and HDR among others. This model has 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of expandable eMMc storage memory thanks to the included microSD card reader.

Connectivity and other features

This TV-Box also includes wireless WiFi dual-band connectivity with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.0. At the level of connectivity this equipment includes four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet connector, an HDMI 2.0b capable of reaching up to 4K@60fps, SPDIF digital audio jack and AV video output jack. The operating system installed is Android 7.1.
