A new TV box appears in Chinese stores under the name of MECOOL M8S Plus DVB, which stands out for including a HD DVB-T2/T tuner in its configuration. A new team with a somewhat disappointing hardware that only includes 1GB of RAM, obviously insufficient and that will undoubtedly weigh the overall performance of the team under android something that we have seen in teams with this amount of RAM and DVB-T tuner and / or Satellite.
SoC, RAM and storage
The new MECOOL M8S Plus DVB includes the Amlogic S905D SoC a Quad Core similar to the S905X but which is specially designed to be integrated into equipment with integrated tuners with a Mali-450mp5 GPU capable of taking video resolutions of up to 4K@60fps with Support for HDR10 and HLG. Inside we also have 1 GB of DDR RAM and 8 GB of storage memory that we can expand thanks to the microSD card reader that we have in the back of the box. A very discrete memory configuration to have a DVB-T2/T tuner.
Other specifications
At the level of wireless connectivity we have Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 and as connectors we find an HDMI 2.0 interface, a pair of USB 2.0 connectors, RJ45 10/100 network connector, an analog A / V output and the antenna input for the DVB-T2/T.
The operating system is Android 7.1 and includes among the accessories an infrared remote control.
Price and availability in stores
- The MECOOL M8S Plus DVB TV-Box can be purchased at Gearbest.com from $56.99 (€49.93) including shipping depending on destination.

With the rise of IPTV boxes, combining the same facilities on an Android box would be… Read more »
