Mecool M8S PLUS L a minimalist TV-Box with S912 Octa SoC

It seems that the Octa Core SoC of Amlogic S912 still has a way to go as they continue to integrating it at a good number of Chinese assemblers in their devices. Today we see with this veteran SoC the new Mecool M8S PLUS L a device with a really minimalist box that reminds us the famous Xiaomi Mi Box 4 and that like this it lacks enough connectors. A TV-Box quite discreet in every way and that by the configuration that we have seems quite expensive.

SoC, RAM and storage

The Mecool M8S PLUS L includes the powerful Octa Core S912 SoC from Amlogic with ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit processors and a Mali-T820MP3 GPU with support for video decoding up to 4K@60fps resolutions with HDR among other virtues. This unit integrates 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of eMMc storage memory on its motherboard. A great configuration to be able to execute even any 3D game like the demanding PUBG.

Other specifications

In terms of connectivity, the Mecool M8S PLUS L only includes Wi-Fi b/g/n with internal antenna and as connectors we only have an HDMI 2.0 interface on the rear, a pair of USB 2.0 connectors and an analog A/V output.

The operating system is Android 7.1.2 and comes standard with the software for IPTV STALKER MAG25X quite popular lately.
