A new mid-range SoC, the Mediatek Dimensity 7025, announced months ago and debuting in the new Moto G64 5G, has landed on the market .
An Octa Core SoC that swells the most popular range of smartphones and is an improved version of the Mediatek Dimensity 7020, where the CPU would be between 6 and 7% more powerful, a fairly modest figure. Upgrades also come to the camera controller (ISP), as it is upgraded with support for up to 200 MP, a considerable leap from the 108 MP of the Dimensity 7020.
The Mediatek Dimensity 7025 is manufactured in 6 nm by TSMC so we will have a good power efficiency within its range. As you can see, not too many improvements over the Dimensity 7020, which will probably be discontinued in favor of this new SoC.
Mediatek Dimensity 7025 Specifications
The Mediatek Dimensity 7025 SoC is an Octa Core manufactured in 6 nm. Inside, we have two clusters, the most powerful with 2 ARM Cortex-A78 processors that reach 2.5 Ghz and the most efficient with 4 ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 2.0 Ghz. The GPU is an Imagination BXM-8-256 that we assume reaches 950 or 1000 Mhz and includes support for HDR10 technology.
For RAM, we have support for LPDDR5 up to 2,750 MHz and LPDDR4X at 2,133 MHz, while storage reaches UFS 3.1 type. We also have Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and 5G NR modem. In this chip, the camera controller is an ISP that allows the management of a still camera up to 200 MP, while the video reaches 2K@30fps as maximum. Finally, this chip can handle screens with maximum FHD resolution and refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
