The MediaTek Dimensity 7100 appears on tiptoe, a SoC oriented to mid-low range smartphones and that, as its nomenclature points out, it will be above the Mediatek Dimensity 7050 and below the Dimensity 7200.
This new Octa Core is manufactured in 6 nm when most mid-range SoCs are already manufactured in 4 nm which provides greater energy efficiency. This Mediatek has a configuration with 4x Arm Cortex-A78 reaching up to 2.4GHz and 4x Arm Cortex-A55 with a top speed of 2.0GHz. The iGpu this time is an Arm Mali-G610 MC2 which has half as many cores as the Dimensity 7200, so its performance will be quite low comparatively speaking.
Talking about other aspects the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 is capable of handling displays with resolutions up to 2600x 1200 pixels and 120 Hz refresh, includes a 6-in-1 GPS, 5G modem, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and handles UFS 3.1 storage memory and RAM up to LPDDR5 at 5500 Mhz.
Availability
- The new MediaTek Dimensity 7100 will reach the entry-level market from different brands such as Tecmo, with its POVA Curve 2 5G and Infinix, in the coming months.
