New mid-range Mediatek SoCs announced this spring, the Mediatek Dimensity 7300 and its variant Mediatek Dimensity 7300X, have arrived on the market.
The Mediatek Dimensity 7300 is the evolution of the Mediatek Dimensity 7050 which is far superior, according to the brand, up to 25% in CPU, 20% in GPU thanks to its new Arm Mali-G615 while it is up to 20% more energy efficient. We also have a new more powerful NPU for iA work and improvements in other aspects.
The Mediatek Dimensity 7300 is manufactured in 4 nm by TSMC so we will have excellent energy efficiency within its range. Finally, note that its variant Mediatek Dimensity 7300X repeats the configuration, as it is only optimized for dual-screen folding devices.
Specifications of the Mediatek Dimensity 7300
The Mediatek Dimensity 7300 SoC is an Octa Core manufactured in 4 nm. Inside we have two clusters, the most powerful with 4 ARM Cortex-A78 processors that reach 2.5 Ghz and the most efficient with 4 ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 2.0 Ghz. The GPU is a Mali-G615 MC2 that reaches 1047 Mhz and includes support for HDR10 technology. We also have an NPU 655 for artificial intelligence work.
For RAM we have support for LPDDR5 up to 6400 MHz and LPDDR4X at 4266 MHz, while storage reaches UFS 3.1 type. We also have Wifi 6E connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS and 5G NR modem. In this chip the camera controller is an ISP that allows the management of a still camera up to 200 MP, while the video reaches 2K@30fps as maximum. Finally, this chip can handle screens with maximum WFHD resolution and refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
