Mediatek has just presented its new SoC for MediaTek Dimensity 800 mid-range smartphones at CES this year. A chip that undoubtedly stands out for the integration of a 5G Modem and that lags behind the high-end MediaTek Dimensity SoC 1000 also presented recently. A SoC manufactured in 7nm by TSMC with which Mediatek attacks the new reef that will bring the new 5G networks that will undoubtedly make the sale of smartphones rebound during this year, although in most countries we do not have networks of these active characteristics.
The MediaTek Dimensity 800 includes a pair of clusters, one of high performance with 4 ARM Cortex-A76 processors capable of reaching 2Ghz and another cluster with 4 ARM Cortex-A55 processors with 2Ghz maximum speed. The GPU is an ARM Mali-G57 MP4 with support for FHD+ screens with a refresh of up to 90Hz and for LPDDR4X RAM. It also includes a processor of 3 processors for iA APU 3.0 with a performance of 2.4 TOPS support for cameras up to 64MP or 32 + 16MP and the mentioned 5G modem.
