Mediatek has just presented its new mid-range SoC with an integrated 5G modem that goes by the name of MediaTek Dimensity 820 and which is below Dimensity 1000 and above Dimensity 800. As always, a Chip called to compete with Qualcomm SoCs and in which its price will be its main asset.
A SoC that undoubtedly also points to a growing sector such as the gamer as it includes compatibility for screens with refresh rates of up to 120Mhz, the HyperEngine 2.0 optimization engine and HDR support.
The MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC is an Octa Core manufactured by TSMC in 7nm that integrates 4 ARM Cortex-A76 processors capable of reaching 2.6Ghz and 4 low-power ARM Cortex-A55 that reach 2.0Ghz. The Gpu is an ARM Mali-G57 MC5 with a maximum frequency of 900Mhz and we also have a dedicated MediaTek APU 3.0 to reinforce the AI.
We also find support for up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 storage memory, screens up to FHD + resolution, WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. The modem is a Mediatek M70 for global sub-6GHz 5G networks capable of speeds of 4.7Gbps / 2.5Gbps and DUal SIM, while at the photographic level your ISP can manage up to one 80MP camera or two simultaneous 32MP + 16MP cameras.
