MediaTek has just presented its bet for the new smartphones and tablets of the highest range, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 that promises to give war to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
A SoC that outperforms the Dimensity 9300 in all aspects and is that according to Mediatek the inclusion of the new CPu Arm Cortex-X935 that compared to the previous generation has an IPC increase of 15% and is up to 35% faster in single core and 28% in multicore. It also adds larger L1 and L2 caches and the manufacturing process jumps to 3 nm, which results in even greater energy efficiency and that the brand estimates up to 40%.
MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Specifications
This SoC is an Octa Core manufactured in 3 nm by TSMC. Inside we have three clusters, the most powerful with 1 recent Arm Cortex-X935 processor that reaches 3.62 Ghz. In the other two clusters we have 3 ARM Cortex-X2 and, on the other hand, 4 Arm Cortex-A720 processors. The GPU is an Arm Immortalis-G925 MC12 and includes support for HDR10, HDR VIVID and below. We also have an NPU 890 for artificial intelligence work that accepts LoRA training.
For RAM, we have support for LPDDR5 up to 10667 MHz, while the storage reaches UFS 4 type. We also have Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS and X75 5G modem. In this integrated, the camera controller is an ISP that allows the management of a photo camera up to 320 MP, while the video reaches 8K@60fps as maximum. Finally, this chip can drive up to three foldable displays with maximum WFHD resolution and refresh rate of up to 180 Hz.
