MediaTek Kompanio 1300T a powerful 6nm SoC for 5G tablets

It has been a while since we have seen specific Mediatek chips for tablets, but the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T comes to break this trend and not aiming at the low end precisely.

This new SoC is manufactured with TSMC’s 6nm process and is very similar to the new Mediatek Dimensity 1100 SoC for smartphones. It maintains its connectivity for 5G mobile networks, native support for the AV1 codec and optimization for games with the presence of MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0 gaming technologies.

Undoubtedly good news for the tablet market that lately is recovering after a long season of decline where Mediatek had ceased to be present.
