The new Meizu 22, a high-end compact terminal that pays special attention to photography, has just been presented in China.
A Meizu with 6.3-inch screen and IP68 body that carries no less than 4 faces of 50MP, front, main, wide angle and optical telephoto x4, a configuration that draws attention to all lovers of photography. Its processor is at the height of the cameras, as we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 that improves the previous generation by 31% in CPU, 49% in graphics power and 44% in iA performance. A processor that is very close to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but at a much more moderate price.
The operating system of the Meizu 22 is Android 15 although with the Flyme AIOS 2 layer and the screen is also of good level, since it is an OLED with a refresh of 120 Hz.
Meizu 22 Specifications
This new terminal includes an Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC that is manufactured by TSCM in 4nm. This chip reaches up to 3.2 GHz in its ARM Cortex-X1 core, has three other ARM Cortex-A720 cores that reach up to 3.0 Ghz, 2 ARM Cortex-A720 that reach stay at 2.0 Ghz. In the graphics section we have an Adreno GPU of which we have no data, but which uses the Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2.0 to generate extra frames with the help of artificial intelligence. We also have a Hexagon NPU for artificial intelligence work
This smartphone has versions with 12/16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and options with 256 / 512 GB and 1 TB high-speed UFS 4.1 storage memory.
Display and other features
The Meizu 22 features a 6.3-inch OLED display with 2670 × 1200 pixel resolution, brightness with a maximum peak of 6000 nits, a refresh rate reaching 120 Hz and integrated fingerprint reader.
The front camera is 50 MP and on the back we have a 50 MP OIS main, a 50 MP wide-angle and a telephoto x4 also 50 MP. We find a USB Type-C port, Wifi 7 wireless connectivity, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS 5 in 1, a 5G modem with Dual SIM and stereo speakers. The battery is 5510 mAh and has 80 W fast charging and 60 W wireless.
Pricing and availability
- The new Meizu 22 has just been launched in China for about $379 / 360 € in its base version. We would like to see it in the West, although for now we can only buy it in stores like AliExpress.
