Introduced the Box Xiaomi My Box 4S Pro a new mediaplayer exclusively for China that joins the cheap range Box Xiaomi 4S that was presented last week.
The Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro points to hardware that is theoretically improved over our well-known Xiaomi Mi Box S, as it would have a superior SoC capable of playing video up to 8K resolution with naturally an HDMI 2.1 video output port. It would also double the storage memory to 16 GB and the RAM would remain at 2 GB, which is evidence of its 100% orientation towards streaming content. The operating system, in Chinese, has the MIUI for TV launcher, which works on Android TV. A box exclusively for China but that can give us clues about the next Xiaomi box that we will see in the West.
SoC, RAM and storage
We have few data from the hardware of the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro includes a SoC Quad Core from AMlogic, we would like it to be an S905x3 or S905x4 although possibly a variant of the S905L that already includes the current Mi Box S. RAM is 2 GB and storage is 16 GB, a marginal improvement over current models.
We do not know at the moment the included connectors, although they will be very few, for wireless connectivity it has Dual Band Wifi and Bluetooth. We hope to have details soon of a Box exclusive to China and virtually useless in the West and that pulls the hook of the 8K, format for which there is almost no content.
Price and availability
- The Xiaomi My Box 4S Pro will be available in China from November 5th for a price of around $55 (€50) at the exchange rate.
