New mini-ITX motherboard designed to build your own NAS that we found in stores and that has a good number of connectors for storage and network.
This mini-ITX board of only 170×170 mm offers configurations with Intel Core 7-1165G7, Core 5-1135G7 and Core 3-1115G4, low-power processors sufficient for any task. These chips feature the Intel Xe integrated GPU in the Core i7/i5 with enough power and the Intel HD in the more humble Core i3. As we can see, this board includes a large number of ports, making it a good platform for building a NAS or a high-performance mini PC.
Lately, we have a lot of competition in NAS motherboards, some of them offer more powerful processors such as those from AMD. But if you do not want them for gaming and do not need so much integrated graphics power, it is possible to save money with Intel versions.
Intel Gen11 NAS board specifications
In this motherboard we find in its most powerful version the Intel Core 7-1165G7 processormanufactured in 10nm with a TDP between 12 and 28 W and cooled by a fan. This chip is a Quad Core with 8 threads that reaches 4.8 Ghz in turbo mode. For graphics we have an integrated Intel Xe with 96 execution units that reaches a maximum speed of 1.3 Ghz. Its lower versions Intel CoreCore 5-1135G7 with Intel Xe of 80 EU and the Intel Core 3-1115G4 with an Intel HD Graphics of 48 EU.
As for the RAM memory we have two SODIMM DDR4 3200 MHz slots expandable up to 96 GB in Dual Channel. In the storage section we have two slots M.2 PCIe 3.0×4 NVMe 2280/22110 and allows us to connect 6 extra SATA disks with its SFF-8643 connector.
Other notable features
On the backplate we have a USB-C 3.1 Gen1 port, two USB-A 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack and four 2.5G Ethernet ports. As video outputs we have an HDMI 2.0 connector and a DisplayPort 1.4 with support for up to 4K@60fps resolutions. In addition, we have audio front panel, BIOS reset on the rear and multiple internal power connectors for CPU or cooling, where it is possible to mount a fan compatible with 115x socket.
The power supply we need an ATX in any form factor with 24 pin 8 pin connector. The compatible operating system is Windows 11 Pro, although we can also install Linux in any of its distros.
