The powerful Minisforum AI NAS N5 MAX mini PC + NAS has been announced, a machine featuring one of AMD’s most powerful processors and the option to install up to 200 TB of storage.
This attractive NAS with an integrated mini PC stands out for its massive storage capacity of up to 200 TB. This system supports 5 removable SATA drives and 5 NVMe PCIe drives on the motherboard. Powering the system is the AMD Ryzen AI Max 395 processor with 16 cores and 32 threads, clocking up to 5.1 GHz, and featuring an AI core with 50 TOPS of processing power. For graphics, it features a high-performance solution: the Radeon 8060S GPU with 40 cores, operating at up to 2.9 GHz.
As for the rest of its configuration, its two 10G Ethernet ports stand out for managing high-speed networking. Without a doubt, this is a machine designed to host a high-demand server, whether at home or in an office.
Minisforum AI NAS N5 MAX Specifications
The Minisforum AI NAS N5 MAX features the powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max 395, manufactured using efficient 4nm technology, which powers this computer. This is a 16-core, 32-thread chip with Zen 5 technology that reaches speeds of up to 5.1 GHz and incorporates a50 TOPS AI core for artificial intelligence tasks, reaching 126 TOPS when combined with the CPU. For graphics, it features the powerful 40-core Radeon 8060S iGPU, which runs at a speed of 2.9 GHz.
The RAM is soldered to the board and consists of 64 GB of 8000 MHz LPDDR5 in an Octa-Channel configuration, which provides speed to the integrated GPU. For storage, there are four slots for M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0×1 SSDs and another PCIe 4.0×4 slot, which is ideal for installing the operating system and programs.
Other features
For network connectivity, there is an option to install a Wi-Fi card. For wired connectivity, we have two 10 GbE RJ45 network ports. On the chassis, we also have two USB 3.2 ports, one USB4 at 40 Gbps, two USB4 v2 ports up to 80 Gbps for connecting an external GPU if desired, two USB-A 3.2 ports, and an HDMI 2.1 video output. In total, we have 4 simultaneous video outputs supporting resolutions up to 8K@60fps with HDR.
The Minisforum AI NAS N5 MAX features its own 250 W power supply. It comes with the brand’s proprietary Miniscloud OS (Beta), designed for use as a file server. While you can install Linux or OpenCL, it is also possible to install Windows 11.
