Minisforum continues to expand its catalogue of low-power mini PCs, and today we have a new one available with a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 4800U chip for the most demanding.
The MINISFORUM HM80 integrates the Octa Core AMD Ryzen 7 4800U chip, a chip manufactured in 7nm that has very good performance and that will allow us to move any program fluently and even run quite a few games at a relatively good graphic quality.
This new Minisforum arrives in the typical box of this brand with space for up to 2 SATA3 2.5 mm storage units. We continue with the quality details in its hardware such as its RJ45 Gigabit Gaming 2.5G network port, its Wi-Fi 6 and the inclusion of Windows 10 Pro as OS.
Processor, RAM and storage
The MINISFORUM HM80 mini PC has the AMD Ryzen 7 4800U APU that includes 8 physical cores and 16 threads capable of reaching 4.2 GHz in turbo mode, its base frequency is 1.8 GHz and the TDP of 15 W. The GPU is a AMD Radeon Vega 8 that reaches 1500 GHz and for reference is well above a GeForce MX250 from NVIDIA.
In terms of memory and storage we have versions with 16 GB of Dual Channel DDR4 RAM and a 256/512 GB capacity PCie NVMe 2280 SSD that we can easily replace. We also found 2 bays for two 2.5-inch SATA3 storage drives.
Connectivity and other specifications
Within this mini PC we have in the field of wireless connectivity a Wifi 6 AX200 and Bluetooth 5.1 adapter with internal antenna. On the perimeter of the box we have 4 USB 3.0 ports, two USB 3.1 Gen2, a USB Type-C Gen2 for data, video and charging, 2 3.5 mm audio jacks, a RJ45 Gigabit network connector, another Gigabit 2.5G, HDMI 2.0 video output ports with 4K @ 60 HDR support and another DisplayPort also with support for UHD resolutions.
