Introducing the new Minisforum N5 NAS mini PC, a device that offers powerful AMD processors and the option to mount disks up to 144 TB.
This attractive NAS with integrated mini PC stands out for its large box with rounded shapes. In this equipment we can install 5 removable SATA disks and mount 3 NVMe PCIe on the board. As engine we find two options, for the Minisforum N5 Pro the powerful AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and as a cheaper alternative we also have the Minisforum N5 with the efficient AMD Ryzen 7 255. Two solutions that allow us to move without problems any local server service we want to mount or use them directly as a 4K HDR media player.
From the rest of its configuration to highlight its 10G Ethernet port and its other 5G Ethernet connector. Undoubtedly a machine destined to mount a server with high demand, both at home and in an office.
Minisforum N5 Specifications
In the Minisforum N5 Pro version we have installed the powerful AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with 12 cores, on the one hand, 4 powerful Zen 5 and on the other hand 8 Zen 5C low power consumption, gives us 24 threads and reaches a speed of up to 5.1 GHz. We find a 50 TOPS AI core for artificial intelligence tasks. As a graphics solution we have a Radeon 880M GPU with RDNA 3.5 technology with 16 CU and 2900 MHz turbo mode.
On the other hand, in the Minisforum N5 we find the AMD Ryzen 7 255, an Octa Core with sixteen threads, with a maximum speed of 5.1 GHz and an NPU with 58 TOPS. It also includes a powerful Radeon 780M iGPU of RDNA 3 generation with 12 cores and speed up to 2.6 GHz.
As for RAM we can mount up to 96 GB DDR5 5600 MHz in SODIMM ECC memory on the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and non-ECC on the Ryzen 7 255. We can install 5 removable SATA disks and mount on the board hata 3 NVMe PCIe 4.0 in the slots of the motherboard.
Other features
For network connectivity it gives the option to mount a Wifi card in the PCIe x16 slot. For wired connectivity we have two RJ45 10 GB network ports and another RJ45 5G. In the box we also have two USB 3.2 ports, one USB Type-C, two USB4 up to 40Gbps, audio jack, USB-A 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 video output. We also have Oculink to connect an external GPU if we want. In total we have 3 simultaneous video outputs up to 8K@60fps resolutions with HDR.
The Minisforum N5 has an external 12V power supply that can be connected in the rear area. We have Miniscloud OS (Beta) own brand oriented to be used as a file server. Although we can install Linux in a more general specific distribution or install Windows 11.
