The new MINISFORUM TB4-01 connection dock is now available, a device that allows you to connect multiple peripherals with high bandwidth.
This new connection hub allows through a USB4 port (Thundebolt 4) to connect all types of peripherals up to a maximum overall consumption of 180 W, which is what offers us its 21V power adapter. With this solution we can expand any laptop that has few ports and thus gain connectivity of all kinds, from USB ports to network connectors or video outputs.
A very interesting alternative if we have a laptop with only one or two USB-C ports, something quite common in Macs or Ultrabooks.
MINISFORUM TB4-01 Specifications
Inside its case we find the Intel JHL8440 chip as controller, this allows multiple connection ports and maximum compatibility. As the fastest communication port we have USB4 (Thunderbolt 4 for Intel) that offers up to 40 Gbps and power up to 85 W with PD 3.0 support. We also have in the same box two USB-A 3.2 ports up to 10 Gbps for peripherals.
Other ports and features
We also have in the same box an audio jack, a 2.5G Ethernet connector and HDMI 2.1 DP 1.4 video outputs with 8K@30 or 4K@120 resolutions with HDR support. For storage we can mount a micro SD card and another full-size SD card in the two available slots.
For power supply we have a DC connector for the included 180 W power supply and a power button. The case measures 148 x 86 x 41 mm and weighs only 570 g excluding the external power supply.
