The MINISFORUM U300 surprises us with a Kaby Lake R processor

It is even strange to find a Chinese miniPC equipped with a processor as recent as the MINISFORUM U300, since it includes an Kaby Lake R Intel Celeron 3867U and released early this same 2019. An all-terrain processor with a TDP of 15W ideal for a low-consumption miniPC, reduced space and able to move Windows 10 without problems as well as any desktop program. Also in this miniPC we have 8GB of RAM, and it’s easy to expand the storage memory, but only HDMI 1.4 ports are included to complete it since the video output resolution of these is 4K @ 30fps, of course a DisplayPort port does not I would have been nothing wrong in this miniPC to have a good media player.

Processor, RAM and storage

The mini PC MINISFORUM U300 includes an Intel Celeron 3867U processor, a Dual core manufactured in 14nm with a base frequency of 1.8Ghz and including an Intel® HD Graphics 610 GPU with 12 execution units. The included RAM memory is 8GB LPDDR3 and we have installed an M.2 2280 SSD of 128 GB capacity. We can expand storage thanks to the presence of an internal bay for units up to 2.5 “SATA3 located on the top of the box and easily accessible.

Other specifications

In terms of connectivity, it includes WiFi aC, Bluetooth 4.2 and a gigabyte network connector. The included ports are quite varied as we have a microSD card reader, two HDMI ports 1.4, 4 USB 3.0, a USB type-C and a 3.5mm audio output jack.

The pre-installed operating system is Windows 10 Home edition and includes an adapter to mount it behind a monitor or TV compatible with VESA anchors.
