New powerful mini PC from Minisforum, a Chinese brand that seems to be reaping great success in sales of its compact computers and does not stop releasing new models.
The MINISFORUM X500 is the mini PC that we present today and that stands out basically for its AMD Ryzen 7 5700G processor, a powerful all-rounder chip that includes a VEGA 8 iGPU. The rest of its configuration is quite complete in every way and having integrated memory and storage already comes with Windows 10 Pro installed. On the other hand its measurements are very contained, only 154×153×62 mm and its case has good openings to facilitate proper ventilation.
As always, the downside is its price, quite high at its release even with the reserve discount.
Processor, RAM and storage
The MINISFORUM X500 mini PC includes as engine an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G manufactured in 7nm, an Octa Core with 16 threads capable of reaching 4.6 Ghz in turbo mode and with a base frequency of 3.8 Ghz. The integrated GPU is a VEGA 8 with a top speed of 2 Ghz.
For RAM we have 2 SODIMM slots with 16/32 GB DDR4-3200 versions while for storage we find a 512 GB M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 SSD, an M.2 2242 port for another SSD and a SATA3 interface for a 2.5-inch drive.
Other specifications
For network connectivity we have an internal M.2 card with Wifi 6 + Bluetooth 5.1 and two Gigabyte Ethernet ports. As connectors, we find distributed between its front and rear 4 USB 3.1 Gen2 ports, micro SD card reader, 2 3.5 mm audio jacks, HP audio connector, an HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort, all with video output capability up to 4K@60Hz resolutions.
The power supply is external, a VESA bracket is included and as a curious fact we see that we have a microphone on the front of the box.
