Today we find for sale a new mini PC called MINIX NEO J50C-8SE, it is a version with a simpler processor than the previous J50C-4C.
In this new version of the mini PC we find an Intel Celeron J4125 processor instead of the somewhat more powerful Pentium Silver J5005 that the other model mounts. Inside, it includes storage to M.2 SATA 240 GB and 8 GB of RAM, so we can use it from the first moment with adequate performance for any desktop use. We will also highlight its three video outputs capable of reaching 4K @ 60fps resolutions at the same time, although normally we will use only one or two at most.
Processor, RAM and storage
The new MINIX NEO J50C-8SE includes as an engine an Intel Celeron J4125, a Quad Core manufactured in 14nm capable of reaching 2.7 Ghz in burst mode and in which we find an Intel HD Graphics 600 GPU with support for h.265 video and VP9 up to 4K.
We have integrated 8 GB of DDR4 RAM that occupies one of the 2 SODIMM sockets where we can install up to 16 GB, for storage we have a 240 GB SSD in its internal M.2 2280 SATA slot. The ventilation of the device is very careful, and it has a silent fan as well as a large heatsink to minimize the use of it.
In the wireless connectivity section, it includes Dual Band Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth 4.1. In the field of connectivity we find 3 USB 3.0 ports, 3.5 mm SPDIF / analogue audio jack, Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0a output, miniDP port and finally a USB Type-C connector.
As an operating system, we have Windows 10 Pro 64bits and the box includes a Kensington anchor. A convenient VESA mount is included that allows us to assemble and disassemble the mini PC without using hardware. This mini PC has different forms of remote or programmed start, thinking of industrial uses or digital signage.
