MINIX NEO U22-XJ is officially presented with Amlogic S922XJ SoC

MINIX one of the pioneer brands in the Android TV-Box sector today officially presents its new flagship for this sector the MINIX NEO U22-XJ, a box that arrives with the most powerful hardware of this brand for this sector . This minix includes the Amlogic S922XJ SoC, a 12nm Hexa Core that includes official support for Dolby Vision and Dolby audio. With the celebrations of the Chinese year and the paralysis of this country by the coronavirus we will have to wait a little while to see them in the stores but in a few weeks we will have it available.

 

SoC, RAM and storage

The MINIX NEO U22-XJ Smart Box includes the Hexa Core Amlogic S922XJ SoC, with 4 high-performance ARM Cortex-A73 processors capable of reaching 1.8Ghz + 2 ARM Cortex-A53 processors that reach 1.9Ghz. The GPU is an ARM Mali-G52 MP6 that allows us to run powerful games like PUBG for example. At the VPU level we have the Amlogic Video Engine processor with support for HDR, Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR10 and HDR10 +. The RAM is 4GB DDR4 and the storage is 32GB eMMc expandable thanks to a microSD card reader that we have on one side if we do not have enough.

Other features

Regarding wireless connectivity, the MINIX NEO U22-XJ has WiFi 2 × 2 MIMO and Bluetooth 4.2 with external antenna and Bluetooth 4.1. At the interface level we have on the side of the quadrangular box three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a USB 3.0 Type-C port, while in the rear we have Gigabit Ethernet connector, SPDIF digital audio output, HDMI 2.1 4K @ 60fps and a 3.5mm audio output jack.

We also have access to the reset button on one side, connector for the external antenna included and Kensington lock. With this TV-Box we have included a simple IR remote control and the system installed as standard is Android 9 with the classic MINIX custom layer that includes a launcher suitable for use with the serial control.
