The new Android TV-Box MINIX NEO U8K-ULTRA with Amlogic S928X processor is now available for pre-sale. A powerful TV-Box that leaves no one indifferent, especially for its price.
This new box offers the powerful five-core AMlogic S928X-K SoC with an integrated AI accelerator and 8K HDR scaling. In addition, this K version includes certification for viewing content in Dolby Vision quality and Dolby Atmos audio system, a differential point compared to the competition. The operating system for now is not defined, but normally for this SoC at the moment is Android 11 AOSP with automatic OTA updates (it is not Android TV).
According to the specifications, Widevine L1 DRM support is included for good quality streaming services using official apps.
MINIX NEO U8K-ULTRA Specifications
The new Android TV-Box MINIX NEO U8K-ULTRA integrates the Penta Core Amlogic S928X-K processor manufactured in 12nm. A chip with a high performance ARM Cortex-A76 core accompanied by 4 ARM Cortex-A55 cores. The iGPU we have in this Amlogic is an ARM-G57 MC2 with support for OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.2 and OpenCL 2.0. It also includes support for HDR10, HDR10, HLG, AV1, VP9, H.265 and AVS3 among others. We also have a 3.2 TOPS AI accelerator with support for TensorFlow and Caffe.
In its only announced version, this TV-Box has 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and 128 GB of eMMc 5.1 storage memory. A micro SD card reader is also included in case we want to expand the storage.
Other outstanding features
Wireless connectivity is ensured by WIFI 6 2×2 MIMO with an internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.2. The included connectors are a Gigabit Ethernet network port, micro SD memory card slot, a USB 3.0 connector, a USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, SPDIF output and an HDMI 2.1a video output capable of outputting up to 8K video resolutions at 60fps. This TV-Box, as we commented, has certificates for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos systems thanks to the special version of SoC Amlogic S928X-K that integrates.
By default it comes with a remote control with bluetooth and Infrared MINIX NEO A3 Pro with integrated microphone, full keyboard and gyroscope to control the system by flymouse cursor.
