New mini PC unveiled under the name MINIX NR660 LP, a compact mini PC that opts for the popular AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor.
This computer is a version of the MINIX NR660 that we saw some time ago in one of our reviews. A machine that uses the same processor, maintains the same case design, and offers similar but inferior performance in some aspects. The motherboard of this PC now features LPDDR5 6400 MT/s RAM, an improvement in speed ideal for gaming compared to the previous DDR5 at 4800 MT/s, but which cannot be upgraded. It also has two interfaces for NVMe SSDs, a high-speed Wi-Fi 6Eadapter, and two Gigabit Ethernet ports.
However, we have lost the USB4 connection in the model change, so this machine has become less attractive for those who wanted to install an external GPU.
MINIX NR660 LP Specifications
This compact PC features an AMD Ryzen 5 6600Hprocessor manufactured in 6 nm withZen 3 technology. A Hexa Core chip with twelve threads, with speeds of up to4.5 GHzand including a 6-coreRadeon 660M iGPU. With its power, we can run any demanding app at a good level, as well as games with 3D loads up to a certain point.
In terms of RAM, we have 16 GB of soldered LPDDR5 with a speed of 6400 MT/s. For storage, we have two slotsforM.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0×4 SSDs, one of them with a 512 GB SSD, which we can expand up to 8 TB.
Other notable features
For connectivity, we have a triple-band M.2 Wi-Fi 6E card withBluetooth 5.2 and two Gigabit Ethernet ports . The rest of the connectors are three USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, one USB-A 2.0, a 3.5 mm 2-in-1 audio jack, and a USB-C 3.2 port. We haveHDMI 2.0andDisplayPort 1.4video outputs with4K@60Hz HDR support, which allows us to connect up to two displays simultaneously.
This mini PC comes withWindows 11 PRO, which can be replaced with Linux. A VESA mount is included so it can be hung behind your TV or monitor.
