New mini PC presented under the name of MINIX Z100-AERO, a device with a fairly classic design of this brand that seems to resurface from its long lethargy.
The compact computer MINIX Z100-AERO is a version with active fan of its brother MINI NEO Z100-0db totally passive, which we saw a few weeks ago. As processor, as it can not be otherwise, we have integrated on its motherboard the efficient and popular Intel N100, in it we find four cores with a TDP of only 6W TPD that offers high efficiency for desktop. A sufficient system for office, browsing, multimedia consumption and light games.
In addition, we have three video outputs to be able to use it, for example, in digital signage. The ventilation system also seems to have an impact on the SSD and RAM for maximum efficiency.
MINIX Z100-AERO Specifications
This new MINIX NEO Z100-AERO integrates the Intel N100 processor manufactured in 10 nm. A chip with four cores and four execution threads that reach up to 3.4 GHz. For the graphics section we have an integrated Intel UHD Graphics GPU with 24EU compatible with VP9 and h.265 video codecs up to 4K@60fps. A processor and GPU that is not designed for demanding 3D titles, but it does allow us to use the device for many other daily multimedia or office tasks.
As for the RAM memory, we have a SODDIM of 8/16 GB DDR4 at 3200 MHz that we can expand or replace. As for storage, we have a 256/512 GB NVMe M.2 2280 SSD that we can also expand up to 4 TB.
Other notable features
In terms of connectivity, we have a 2.5G Ethernet port and another Gigabit port and an adapter with Wifi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. In the area of connectors we find on the perimeter of the case three USB 3.2 Gen1 up to 5 Gbps, a USB-C with DisplayPort video output and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also has HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 video outputs that allow video playback up to 4K@60fps HDR resolutions.
