The new leaked MSI CLAW console PC, the first with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, has just been unveiled at CES 2024.
This new console strongly inspired by the ASUS Rog Ally features the new Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, of which some mini PCs have also been presented during this same event. A hardware that tries to attract the attention of Gamers with the new Intel Arc Xe 8-core GPU with performance similar to the AMD Ryzen 7000/8000 APUs with RDNA3.
A new competitor that joins the fight in this flourishing sector, among which there are also heavyweights such as the Steam Deck and the recent Lenovo Legion GO.
Specifications of the MSI CLAW
The new MSI CLAW includes two types of processors, the most powerful Intel Meteor Lake Core Ultra 7-155H, which has 16 cores (6P 8E 2LE) and 22 threads up to 4.8 GHz, with an Intel Arc GPU with 8 Xe-Cores. There is also another version with Intel Core Ultra 5 125H with 14 cores and 18 threads (4P 8E 2LE) up to 4.5 GHz integrating Intel Arc GPU with 7 Xe-Cores. Both include image and performance enhancements with XeSS. This processor is manufactured in 7 nm, which competes directly with the AMD Ryzen Z1.
They have also announced that it will have 3 versions, in the memory section of 16/32 GB LPDDR5X, as to storage we have 512 GB or 1 TB NVMe. As expansion, we have a micro SD slot at the top.
Other notable features
As for the screen we have a 7″ IPS FullHD touch panel that reaches up to 120 Hz, identical to the one found in the Ally. As communications we have Wifi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It also has a 2.5 mm audio jack, micro SD, Thunderbolt 4 with fast charging PD 65 W and a powerful cooling system with two fans.
The operating system will be Windows 11 for sure. The measurements are 291 x 117 x 21.2 mm and weighs 675 grams. The 53 Wh battery will give us an autonomy of about 2 hours in AAA games.
