Netflix seems to work hard on removing more and more features from its service, in this latest move it has decided to remove the casting feature.
It seems that Netflix is determined to eliminate any possibility of sharing accounts, now puts the eye on the function of sending content with the Chromecast feature offered by smart TVs with Google or other compatible systems. This policy already began to apply some time ago in accounts with cheaper plans with ads, but now seems to extend it to all plans.
On the company’s official website we can read the following paragraph:
Netflix no longer supports casting shows from a mobile device to most TVs and TV-streaming devices. You’ll need to use the remote that came with your TV or TV-streaming device to navigate Netflix.
If we cannot stream our content from our mobile device we will have no choice but to use a certified Google TV device with support for Netflix.
