This year the panorama of mini PCs in the Hong Kong Global Sources Electronics Fair 2018 is very active, today we want to echo the new mini PC models of the KODLIX brand. The first is an updated version with Intel Gemini Lake processors of its fanless mini KODLIX PC N42 – D, the second is the model KODLIX Kaby Lake-R in classic NUC format with active ventilation, let’s see in detail that offer to us these two new products.
KODLIX Gemini Lake
The new KODLIX Gemini Lake has comes with several processor options, Intel Celeron N4000 Dual Core, Celeron N4100 Quad Core and the most powerful Intel Pentium Silver N5000 Quad Core, in them we find the Intel HD Graphics 600 or 605 GPU, the options of RAM vary between 4 and 8 GB of DDR4 RAM in two SODIMM slots, we have 32 to 256GB of eMMc storage memory, an internal SATA bay for 2.5 “devices and an M.2 module with dual band wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 that we can also replace. In the section of connections we have a USB Type-C port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0, SD card reader, Gigabit network connector, audio input and output jack, the video output seems only HDMI 1.4 and we also have VGA connector that allows us to connect two monitors at once. The operating system will be Windows 10 Home or Pro depending on the specifications.
KODLIX NUC Kaby Lake-R
The model KODLIX NUC Kaby Lake-R has a much more conventional design and has active ventilation, basically it is identical to an Intel NUC model but it is supposed to compete on price because otherwise will not win market. This mini PC can mount Intel Core i3-8130U, Core i5-8250U, Core i5-8350U, Core i7-8550U and Core i7-8650U processors, has two DDR4 SODIMM memory slots with support up to 32 GB and can mount a unit 2.5″ disk We have two USB 3.0 ports in addition to a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 connector so it seems, it has a HMDI 2.0 video connector with 4K@60fps support, audio jack and Gigabit Ethernet port, it is Suppose you have an M.2 slot for a Wi-Fi adapter, compatible with Windows 10 and Linux operating systems.
