Today we present the new passive mini PC Newsmay AC8F-POE, a computer that surprises us with multiple power supply and networking options.
This robust computer has an Ethernet PoE port, with it we can electrically power the mini PC from a router that supports this technology or through a power supply. With this method using a single cable we can have it working anywhere as a server or soft router thanks to its five Intel Ethernet ports. It also offers a connection slot for 4G/5G cards. A totally fanless computer with the Intel N100 processor inside that we have already seen in a review.
This hardware will give a good performance using it in productivity tasks or industrial uses, with suites of computer tools, navigation or for digital signage in 24/365 jobs.
Newsmay AC8F-POE mini PC Specifications
Powering the Newsmay AC8F-POE passive mini PC is the Intel N100 processor manufactured in 10 nm with four cores and four threads up to 3.4 GHz. For the graphics section we have an integrated Intel UHD Graphics GPU with 24EU compatible with VP9 and h.265 video codecs up to 4K@60fps. This processor and GPU allow us to use the device for other daily multimedia or office tasks smoothly without problems.
In the RAM memory section we have a single SODIMM DDR4 slot at 3200 MHz that we can expand up to 16 GB. For storage we have capacity for a SSD SATA M.2 2280 that we can mount by opening the bottom cover.
Other notable features
For connectivity in the Newsmay AC8F-POE mini PC we have the possibility of mounting an M.2 2232 card for the Bluetooth Wifi adapter, on the back we have an output for 2 external antennas, something interesting for outdoor use. Optionally, we can install a 4G/5G telephony modem using its SIM slot. In the connector area we have four USB 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 and another USB-C. As video outputs we have an HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort that allow video playback up to 4K@60fps resolution without problems.
In the rear area we have a DC-IN 12V connector for power. In addition, we have 5 Intel l225V Ethernet ports, one of them is PoE (60W) for power, another one is a convertible RJ45 COM RS232. Also inside we can connect another USB 2.0, front panel or an extra RS232 if we need it.
This mini PC is compatible with Windows 11 and 10, as well as Linux distributions. It has VESA support and an external 12V power adapter is included. The system BIOS supports Auto Power On, WoL and PXE. The dimensions are 155 x 126.5 x 62 mm.
