Noctua NH-P1 a new high-performance fanless heatsink

The new Noctua NH-P1 is Noctua’s first passive CPU cooler custom-designed for fanless operation for enclosures with good natural convection and requiring zero operating noise.

It features six heatpipes and thick, widely spaced heatsink fins that allow cooling modern high-end CPUs with moderate heat dissipation completely passively. If a semi-passive configuration is required the NH-P1 can be equipped with an ultra-quiet, low speed 120mm fan such as the NF-A12x25 LS-PWM.

This new heatsink features the professional Torx-based SecuFirm2+ mounting system, brings Noctua’s award-winning NT-H2 thermal compound included and comes with a 6-year manufacturer’s warranty, the NH-P1 without any doubt is ideal for semi-passive or premium fanless setups.

The NH-P1 is our first passive heatsink, and it should be easy to see that we didn’t just take a normal heatsink and omit the fan,” says Roland Mossig (CEO of Noctua). “A lot of engineering work has gone into designing this unit for fanless operation from the ground up and we are really proud of the end result. In our completely fanless demo system, the NH-P1 cools an Intel Core i9-11900K running Prime95 at over 3.6GHz – that’s a lot of processing power and a whopping 125W maintained with zero fan noise!

As we can see according to the words of Noctua’s CEO we can get to cool an Intel Core i9-11900K with a 125W TPD consumption with this system completely passively, which is certainly impressive in such a fan system. The size of this heatsink is 158 x 154 x 152, its weight is 1180 grams and is compatible with almost all types of Intel or AMD socket.
