With Christmas in the spotlight, Chinese brands do not stop releasing new products in the world of retro consoles and today we present the new Powkiddy RGB20 Pro.
The Powkiddy RGB20 Pro is a small vertical pocket console with a body where in addition to its motherboard is seen through a small front window highlights its HD screen. A screen with a high resolution of 1024×768 pixels, not common within the retro consoles of this category.
Inside this Powkiddy we find the RK3566 processor that we have seen in several reviews and that we can currently find in many retro consoles. This SoC allows us to move, according to the brand, the included PSP, N64, PS1 and Dreamcast emulators as well as many more 8 and 16 bits consoles.
Powkiddy RGB20 Pro Specifications
The Powkiddy RGB20 Pro is powered by a Rockchip RK3566 SoC manufactured in 22nm. This processor is a Quad Core with low-power 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 cores going up to 1.8 Ghz, with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU and an NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS.
This console includes 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM enough for a retro console of this type. For storage we have two micro SD slots, one to boot your Linux system with a Batocera type distribution and another slot for games with support up to 256 GB. For wireless connectivity we have wifi b/g/n and Bluetooth.
The screen of the Powkiddy RGB20 Pro is a 3.2 inch IPS OCA and a high resolution of 1024×768 pixels. In terms of controls we have a configuration with two analog sticks, crosshead, four buttons, four triggers, start, select, reset and function key. The connectors we find are a USB Type-C OTG, 3.5 mm audio jack and a USB Type-C for power.
This console has a 1W speaker and an internal 5000 mAh battery that provides up to 10 h of autonomy with a charging time of 2.5h. The dimensions are 150 x 83.3 x 22 mm which makes it quite compact.
