Today we found in stores the new Q670 motherboard for NAS, an interesting solution to mount in its LGA1700 socket the processor you want.
This mini-ITX motherboard offers support for Intel 12/13/14th generation processors, so we can take advantage of a CPU that we have unused or mount a cheap second-hand one. In this NAS board, we have numerous ports and the ability to connect up to 8 SATA drives, plus 2 NVMe PCIe 4 drives. Enough hardware to manage a NAS and manage our local network with the two powerful 2.5G Ethernet ports that mounts, with them, we will assume all the data flow we need.
A board with which we can perfectly run Windows 11 or install a server-oriented Linux distribution. It is even possible to smoothly play video up to 4K@60fps HDR resolutions, or we can install a dedicated GPU in its PCIe 5.0×16 slot.

In this motherboard we can opt for multiple processors thanks to the LGA1700 socket that has wide compatibility. A good alternative that gives us the option to install an Intel 12/13/14th generation CPU that already integrates a fairly modern GPU for video. We will need to install its corresponding LGA115x/LGA1700 compatible fan, sized to the consumption we demand.
For RAM memory we have two DDR5 slots up to 5600 MHz, where we can install up to 16 GB. It also includes two connectors for SSD M.2 NVMe 2280 PCIe 4 and offers eight SATA3 ports to connect all our disks directly with SFF-8643 cables.
Other features
In the wireless connectivity section, we can mount a M.2E Wifi 6 Bluetooth module in the lower area. We can also use the PCIe 5.0×16 slot to mount a powerful graphics card if we want. As for connectors, we have four USB-A 3.0 ports, one USB-C Gen2, five USB-A 2.0, audio jack and two 2.5G Ethernet ports. As video outputs, we have an HDMI 2.0 connector and another DP 1.4 for video up to 4K@60fps HDR resolutions.
For power supply we need a source or PICO PSU that supports 24 Pin ATX 4 Pin connector, thanks to its low power consumption we do not need a lot of electrical power to operate.
